Product Description

Carmina is a mid infrared (mid-IR) light source from APE. It combines scattering scanning nearfield optical microscopy (s-SNOM) and atomic force microscope infrared sectroscopy (AFM-IR) giving a remarkable mid-IR light source.

Carmina is a broadly tunable infrared light source from APE for integration with scattering scanning nearfield optical microscopy (s-SNOM) and atomic force microscope infrared (AFM-IR) microscopes.

The source sets new standards in resolution, sensitivity and tuning range due to its optical parametric oscillator/difference frequency generation (OPO/DFG) architecture. The unique combination of 300cm-1 broadband as well as 20cm-1 narrowband emission covers the two complementary nanoscale infrared techniques s-SNOM and AFM-IR.

The outstanding high output power between 5mW and 300mW in combination with an extremely low noise level is addressing a wider range of applications in the nearfield imaging and spectroscopy field.

A pulsed mode (burst mode with 50% duty cycle) is included for AFM-IR applications.
