FIRST IN PHOTONICS
The HPM-100 series of high speed hybrid detectors for time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) measurements from Becker and Hickl is available with either a gallium arseninde phosphide (GaAsP) cathode or a gallium arsenide (GaAs) cathode for increased near infrared sensitivity and an instrument response function of less than 20ps with clean response, no tails or secondary peaks and low afterpulsing probability.
Three different version of the HPM are available: HPM-100-06/07 high speed version, HPM-100-40/42 high efficiency GaAsP version and the HPM-100-50 extended red sensitive GaAs version. The HPM-100-06/07 offers the ultimate in timing resolution with sub 20ps instrument response function (IRF) in combination with the SPC-150N and SPC-150NX. The HPM-100-40/42 offers an IRF of <120ps but benefit from extended spectral coverage to 820nm thanks to the GaAsP photocathode. To extend spectral coverage even further choose the HPM-100-50 with GaAs photocathode which offers sensitivity out to 900nm with a sub <135ps IRF.
These HPM modules contain the hybrid photomultiplier tube (PMT) with the preamplifier and generators for the PMT operating voltages all in one compact housing. These hybrid PMTs yield excellent timing resolution, a clean TCSPC IRF, high detection quantum efficiency, and extremely low afterpulsing probability. The virtual absence of afterpulsing results in a substantially increased dynamic range for fluorescence decay recordings. Moreover, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) curves obtained with the HPM-100 are free of the typical afterpulsing peak. FCS is thus obtained from a single detector, without the need of cross-correlation.
The HPM-100 module is operated via the DCC-100 detector controller. The DCC-100 provides for power supply, gain control, and overload shutdown.
