Ocean Optics was founded in 1989 to manufacture fibre optic pH meters. In 1992 their first fibre optic spectrometer, the S1000, was launched. Since then, Ocean Optics has grown to produce a large range of spectrometers that are compact, rugged, and most importantly: affordable.

More than 50,000 spectrometers have been sold and perform in every situation you can imagine, from the Martian surface, to the bottom of the ocean. Wherever you need to measure spectra, Ocean Optics probably already has.
